when i came to this board, i thought that it was for encouragement amoung people who had been treated badly by the wtbts, i did not understand that people were going to come here and bash god, his son and the bible.
i could understand some embitterment over religion but some of you people are down right insulting.
not to mention the fact that i have tried to contact others on the board and have had my messages ignored.. .
HS,
Anyone with the inclination to trawl through the 'Global Warming' thread will note your repeated and unprovoked ad hominem attacks on Abbadon at the beginning of the thread (which caused the thread to stray off topic) , and your later denial at having used any ad hominem attacks. This is dishonesty.
If pointing out that nearly everthing Abaddon stated in the beginning of that thread (and quite frequently throughout) was a logical fallacy, why, yes then, I "ad hom attacked" Abaddon by pointing those logical fallacies out. Are you so obtuse, or in such a love affair with Abaddon that you can't see Abbaddon's constant use of logical fallacies? OK, many others here do, fortunately. Again, your reading comprehension suffers. Perhaps if you would take off the blinders?
That SixOfNine described such people in those terms is NOT relevant,
Yes, it IS relevant. Give respect- get it. Hurl insults, and I, for one, will lob them right back at ya!
My last post on this subject.
I sincerely doubt it.
BA
my mom says that one of the reasons that the wtbts is the true religion (after i told her many things they were wrong about) is that: .
only they told of this "war between governments and religion" and she can see "things coming to a head" in recent years and that this proves so much that this war is just part of the "sign" that the society has always pointed to.
she gives as example also the strong conservative christian leanings of bush and his regime.
I believe the Middle East is a brewing cauldron of poor, young, ignorant, backwards, easy to unite against a scapegoat, fundamentalists.
To a crafty Mullah or other religious leader, they are putty in the hands.
To a would-be terror Mastermind, the Mullahs are the key to mind control of these minions of would-be Jihadis.
And, unfortuantely, the Muslim religious leaders rarely condemn fomenting of Jihad against the "infidels" (the West)..
It's in the Koran, after all..

All,
Would you all say that religion is merely the *vehicle* that the middle east used to organize its masses instead of actually wanting us to be destroyed because they genuinely believe we have the wrong spiritual path?
-K
I believe it is a "vehicle" used to indoctinate the fundamentalist Jihadis to be inspired to fight the West in order to get out of the desert and into the afterlife reward of the "72 Virgins", or was it "72 Virgils"?

BA- how much of a religious reason do you see? Any? None?
I know that the US calls itself a "Christian nation" but is religious difference at all a bit of the reason there is all this unrest and war between the Western world and the Middle East??
-K
In a way, religion, as always in warfare, is an issuue. In this case it is the fundamentalist Muslim Jihadis who are easily manipulated into their hatred of the West as a scapegoat for all their problems. You know, the US = "The Great Satan" mindset. Hence 9/11 and other terror attacks.
Yes, I would say the religion of the Jihadis, is a primary driver. As for the West, I don't believe religion, but rather self-presevation, self-interest, and continued domination are what's at stake. The US is a melting pot of religion, atheism, agnosticism, racism, and many other isms, rather than a Christian Nation", imo.

I believe the Iraq War is for numerous reasons:
-Depose a hostile Dictator (Saddam)
-Keep jihadis busy fighting the West over there instead of over here.
-Pave the way for US Military bases in the Middle East.
-Indirectly control the Iraqi Oil, and who benefits from it.
-Uphold the value of the US Dollar.
BA- Of course, I could be wrong, but I'm not
someone was asking for a scanned copy of the memorial invitation, so here it is, front and back.
i've uh, revized it a bit to say what they really mean.

Mary,
That's priceless!
I am printing a few copies of that here to hand out to others I know will appreciate it!

BA- Enjoy Spring!!

hs,
Nonsense,
For example, I proved you a liar in the 'Global Warming' thread.
Nothing could be further from the truth. You never proved me a liar. You stated you did, but no proof. You behave like a child, and believe that if you state something, it must be true. I could not care less about what you assert about me or anyone else- you are a bore who clearly loves to drink your own kool-aid.
Any person who has read my posts on this Board over the years knows that I dance to no-ones tune but my own.
And what a tired, boring, repetitive, vapid, inane tune it is.
For example Gyles, who you continue to try to portray as the object of my 'cheerleading' have battled before over issues, confounding your facile and bitchy revelations!
Ooh, ooh, cheerleader battles! Where can we get tickets!! You are so dense and anal retentive on this board that I can only imagine what a bore you are in real life. You have the wit sense of humor of a block of wood.
BA- Can't we all just play nice?Play how you want, just learn to play consistently and you will gain a little more credibility. Research your subject before typing, blah, blah, blah. For example, your offerings on the 'Global Warming' thread were numerous but lacked any substansive content whatsoever. In fact, this seems to be a common trend in your posting style.
You have repeatedly shown a lack of reading comprehension. The "attacks" you claim I made on the other thread were nothing more than pointing out the logical flaws in your cheerleading coach's "debate" style. But I repeat myself, if you didn't get it the first hundred times, nor will you now. When you scratch your head be careful you don't get splinters, blockhead.
Yes, what is it you called SixofNine today. A completely unprovoked attack of course, I think the word was F******wit.
Once again, an intelligent person (which clearly you are not) would have read SixofNine's post immediately preceding the one you refer to, where he intimated that that anyone who believed that Global Warming was not caused primarily by humans, is a "f***wit. HE spelled it out, by the way, not using the asterisk as I did in my response to him.You both lack reading comprehension. You call that unprovoked? R-E-A-D T-H-E C-O-N-T-E-X-T FIRST, DIMWIT.
See what I mean about your dishonesty?
You have neither shown that I am dishonest, nor have you proven me a liar. That would clearly make you both.
BA- Take some ex-lax, you anal-retentive twit.
jehovah's witnesses teach that matthew 28:19, 20 is a requirement of god for every christian, a command from christ to his followers.
every one of jehovah's witnesses is required to proselytize in order to be considered an active and regular jehovah's witness.. however, these verses also say that the teachers must baptize.
jehovah's witnesses only consider baptisms by organizationally authorized persons to be valid, and only after a person desiring baptism meets the requirements of an unscriptural criteria.. how is it contextually possible that jesus intended the teaching to be carried by individuals and the baptizing to be performed organizationally?
AuldSoul,
Another bit of man-made tradition taught as if from Scripture.
Yet another indictment of the WTBTS pushing their "teachings of Men" over God's Word.
BA- Thanks for reminding me of yet another reason I differed with the JW's teachings.
PS- God Bless.
